Konigstuhl

June 9th

The tram up to Konigstuhl
Today was my last day to explore Heidelberg.  I walked to Altstat and ate some lunch at a Korean restaurant before hoping on a tram that took me to the top of one of the mountains, Konigstuhl that overlooks all of Heidelberg and the valley beyond.  At the top I there were many trails that hikers, and bikers were taking advantage of, I joined in and walked around for a bit too before getting back on the tram and taking it back down to the bottom.

Me drinking Budweiser

After returning back to the apartment, Brian and I went to the local liquor store and bought an assortment of beers, including the original Budweiser from the Czech Republic to enjoy with dinner.  We grilled up some salmon and potatoes and steamed some white asparagus (which are in season right now) with hollandaise sauce.  After dinner we met up with a friend of Irene and Brian’s at a bar and had a few beers and good conversation.  Part of the fun of traveling to other countries is connecting with strangers over a few pints and good conversation.

Tomorrow we leave Heidelberg for Cologne to watch the US Men's national US and German soccer game.
